CaseSafe and zoelabs.app
Privacy Policy
Effective 23 August 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to CaseSafe, a product of ZOELABS PTY LTD (“ZoeLabs”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your professional data. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the CaseSafe iOS application (the “Application”) and when you visit this website.
By using CaseSafe, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
2. The zero-knowledge promise (information we do NOT collect)
CaseSafe is built on a “zero-knowledge architecture”. This means your case notes, professional data, passwords, and encryption keys are encrypted locally on your Apple device.
- We do not collect, transmit, store, or have access to any of the text, data, or files you input into the Application.
- We cannot decrypt your data, nor can we recover it if you lose your credentials or Recovery Code.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties, advertising networks, or analytics providers, because we do not possess your data.
3. Information we collect
To comply with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines and to provide basic functionality and support, we may collect the following limited types of information:
- Customer support inquiries. If you contact us directly by email at support@zoelabs.app, or through the contact form on this website, we will collect your email address and any information you choose to provide in your message solely to assist you.
- Aggregated app diagnostics. If you have opted in to share diagnostic and usage data with developers through your iOS device settings, Apple provides us with anonymized crash reports and aggregated usage metrics. This data contains no personally identifiable information (PII) or encrypted case data.
4. What this website collects
This section describes the website at zoelabs.app, separately from the Application.
- The website sets no cookies and uses no local storage.
- The website loads no analytics, tag manager, advertising script, or tracking pixel of any kind.
- Every asset on the website — including images, styles, and fonts — is served from zoelabs.app. Loading a page on this site causes your browser to make no request to any other company, so no third party learns that you visited.
- Our web host keeps standard server access logs, which record the IP address, timestamp, requested path, and user agent for each request. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure, are used only to operate and secure the site, and are not combined with any other information.
- If you submit the contact form, its contents are sent directly to our support mailbox and are not written to any database or file on the server. The message exists only as email.
5. Subscriptions and payment data
CaseSafe offers auto-renewing subscriptions. All payment processing is handled securely and entirely by Apple Inc. through your Apple ID. We do not collect, process, or have access to your credit card information, billing address, or financial details. You can manage your subscription and payment data directly through your App Store account settings.
6. Data storage and security
All personal and professional information you enter into CaseSafe is securely stored and encrypted exclusively on your physical device (and your personal iCloud account, if you enable device backups). You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your device and safeguarding your CaseSafe Recovery Code.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because we do not host your data on our servers, you retain absolute control over your data retention.
To delete your data: you may permanently delete all your CaseSafe data at any time by deleting the Application from your device.
Note: if your device is backed up to iCloud, an encrypted backup of the app data may remain there until overwritten or manually deleted by you.
8. Your privacy rights (Australian Privacy Principles)
Under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to transparent management of your personal information. Since CaseSafe does not collect or hold your personal information or case data, standard requests to access or correct stored data do not apply to the core functionality of the app.
However, regarding any customer support emails you voluntarily send to us:
- You have the right to request access to any personal information you have provided to us through those emails.
- You have the right to ask us to correct or permanently delete any email communications you have sent us.
- You have the right to remain anonymous or use a pseudonym when contacting support, provided it is practical to do so.
9. Children’s privacy
CaseSafe is a professional tool and is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. The Application itself does not collect any personal data from any user, regardless of age. However, if a child under 13 contacts us directly (for example, by a customer support email) and inadvertently provides personal information, we will take immediate steps to delete that communication and information from our records.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If our information handling practices change, we will update this policy and provide notice within the Application.
11. Complaints and contact information
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or if you believe we have mishandled your information and wish to lodge a complaint, please contact us at support@zoelabs.app.
We will respond to all privacy complaints within a reasonable timeframe. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
